BACK FROM HELL, FEET FOR FENER, & MORE

Tuesday August 30, 2011

After 5 days of desert shenanigans at Hell City, it feels good to be back home and tattooing at the studio.  This show was quite epic, tattooing with Carson, Dee Dee (who is totally awesome), and the Plumley Twins who are on the gnarliest mission to make us all look like lazy bastards.   This was probably the most fun I've ever had at a convention, taking a road trip with my best bud and getting to see my fellow tattoo nerds.   Carson and I were like kids driving to Phoenix, Az, stopping for anything that looked cool.

Arizona is hot as hell.  We figured out through our trusty iPhones that Phoenix was hotter than the Sahara Desert by like 20 degrees or something.  We saw all kinds of dust devil action, and in this photo below, we decided the dirt was evaporating it was so bloody hot.

The Gem lady was rad too.  We had to pull over and trip out on this huge outdoor gemstone store, where they had piles and piles of almost any Gem or Mineral you could think of.  I scored a 50 Million year old Megalodon (shark) tooth, a piece of Moldavite (that came from outer space), and some other geodes and crystals like this one.

At Neuma Studios, I'm currently booking the end of September and into October.  If you are interested in booking an appointment, email me at tracesofdave@gmail.com.  I am currently booked out for the Ink For A Cause convention in Ventura, CA, but cruise by the Neuma booth or join us for our Free Seminar that weekend.

The Nick Fener Project is hosting "Feet For Fener" at Skydive Perris on September 3rd, 2011.  Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this event for Nick, but I encourage anyone and everyone to go and help support our friend by raising money for his new legs.  Also, back at Neuma Studios, we have been collecting art for our own Nick Fener Benefit Art Auction.  The main office is filled with some amazing works all of these artists have been donating for our cause, and I know there is much more to come.  It's so rad to see all of these respectable artists contributing to a cause like this.  For more info on our show, visit the facebook page for the event here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=212198675502902  also www.NickFener.com for a detail blog of Nicks Daily Struggle.

With all of that, I leaf you with this.  Life is beautiful.
